You start with a unique leader card, as well as a deck identical to those of your opponents. As you acquire cards and build your deck, your choices will define your strengths and weaknesses. Cards allow you to send your Agents to certain spaces on the game board, so how your deck evolves affects your strategy. You might become more powerful militarily, able to deploy more troops than your opponents. Or you might acquire cards that give you an edge with the four political factions represented in the game: the Emperor, the Spacing Guild, the Bene Gesserit, and the Fremen. ***About this outing***: I invite you to join the first Hong Kong Plant Walk! We will be doing an easy hike with the aim of getting more familiar with Hong Kong’s native plants by using the Inaturalist app. We will begin with a quick explainer about Inaturalist and then wander at a comfortable pace along small trails near Quarry Bay pausing to look more closely at plants and record our observations. There is a short uphill climb on the route, so moderate hiking fitness and comfortable walking/hiking shoes are needed. ***About the organizer:*** I am a regular hiker, plant lover and Inaturalist ambassador. However, I am not a botanist or expert! Our scenic photo walk will begin on Ap Lei Chau, which will be celebrating its 100 year old Hung Shing Festival, with a colorful and exciting street parade, lion dances, performances, bamboo theater, and other events. We'll explore the Ap Lei Chau Promenade and then hop on a small sampan ferry for a very quick but picturesque ride across the harbour to the Aberdeen Promenade. Expect to see Temples, traditional costumes, lion dance troups, fishing trawlers, yachts, and small boats of all types, and if we are lucky, a spectacular sunset over the harbour.
