REMINDER - Spring Has Sprung! March 2026 MeetUp
Details
Hello, Piano Friends,
There is power in the saying, "Build it and they will come." The response to this month's gathering was overwhelming, so much so that I am going to close RSVPs by COB on Friday, March 6, lest we have too many performers.
As a reminder, our next MeetUp is Saturday, March 21st @ 2 p.m. I am so excited to see many old friends and newcomers to our small(ish) but mighty group. For those who are new or just need a rule refresher, read below:
- We welcome all levels and all genres, including jazz, gospel, original compositions, etc.! However, no matter your level of play, the only thing upon which we insist is that you bring pieces that you've practiced. While we certainly do not require perfection, out of courtesy to your fellow performers, do not bring pieces that you are sight-reading for the first time, or pieces that you can't play faster than a slow practice speed.
- Typically, we allot 7-9 minutes per performer. However, in light of the huge response I received for March, I am only allowing 8 minutes max. If we have time left over, I will circle back around and allow performers some additional time for a short piece.
- Thomas Zoells, owner of the amazing PianoForte and our wonderful benefactor (and fellow pianist) has so graciously carved out a 3-hour block roughly every other month for our group, including use of a staff member to attend to the stage. This is time which he essentially donates, as we are not paying the going rate for this block. As such, I ask for a modest $10 donation from all attendees towards the lovely venue and yummy refreshments afterwards.
- For newcomers, please note that you are NOT obligated to play the first time. You can simply come, listen, partake of our nerdy piano interaction throughout and eat the yummy snacks! We want you to feel comfortable, so there is no pressure for you to play until you are ready.
Finally, if you can't make this next gathering (or if you do not RSVP in time before it closes), fear not. There are 3 more gatherings this year, in addition to some other regional gathering opportunities which I will share with you all.
You're all set! Be sure to arrive about 15-20 minutes early to get settled in and a quick warm up on the fabulous Fazioli. Our gathering will begin promptly at 2 p.m. See you in a few weeks!!
Audra
